疱癩（上薄教反說文從皮作皰面生熟瘡也亦作皰俗作䩅下來大反廣雅癩傷也蒼頡篇痛也說文正作癘惡疾也從疒厲省聲也厲來大反疒音女厄反）。

Blisters and leprosy (疱癩: the upper character has the fanqie *bó* + *jiào* [pào]; the *Shuowen* writes it under "skin" as 皰, meaning "suppurating sores appearing on the face"; it is also written as 皰, and popularly as 䩅. The lower character has the fanqie *lái* + *dà* [lài]; the *Guangya* says, "*Lài* means wounded." The *Cang Jie pian* says, "Painful." The *Shuowen* takes 癘 as the proper form, meaning "malignant disease"; it is categorized under "sickness" with an abbreviated *lì* phonetic; *lì* has the fanqie *lái* + *dà* [lài]; *nì* has the fanqie *nǚ* + *è* [nì]).
