準繩（上之允反切韻度也平準也下食陵反玉篇索也字書直也尚書曰木從繩則正也世本云倕作準繩也）。

準繩 [Plumb line and marking cord]: The upper [character] has the fanqie 之允 (zhī + yǔn = zhǔn); the Qieyun says, “Measure; a levelling standard.” The lower [character] has the fanqie 食陵 (shí + líng = shéng); the Yupian says, “Cord.” The Zishu says, “Straight.” The Shangshu says, “Wood conforming to the marking cord becomes straight.” The Shiben says, “Chui created the plumb line and marking cord.”
