毘鉢舍那 [Vipaśyanā]: A Sanskrit word, here meaning ‘insight’ (guān). Note that calming and insight (zhǐguān) are the two names for meditative stabilization and wisdom, as already explained above in the New Avataṃsaka Sound and Meaning.
