漩濄（上辭選反說文云水回淵也從水旋形聲字律文單作旋謂旋旋次了也非此用下烏和反字林水𢌞流處也說文云從水過聲律文作渦音戈水名也非漩濄義也）。

Xuánwō (eddy and whirlpool) (the first character has the fanqie cí + xuǎn. The Shuowen jiezi says: "A swirling abyss of water; formed with the 'water' radical and the phonetic xuán; a phono-semantic character." The Vinaya text simply writes xuán, meaning successive rotation, which is not applicable here. The second character has the fanqie wū + hé. The Zilin says: "A place where water swirls back." The Shuowen jiezi says: "Formed with the 'water' radical and the phonetic guò." The Vinaya text writes 渦, pronounced gē, the name of a river, not the meaning of an eddy/whirlpool).
