降誕（上古巷反爾雅云降下也玉篇歸也考聲落也尚書云降二女於媯汭也下徒旱反切韻云誕大也信也玉篇欺也廣雅云誕育也說文云從言延聲亦作這）。

Descent and birth (降誕: the first character is [pronounced with the] fanqie [initial and final of] 古 and 巷; the Erya says it means to descend; the Yupian says to return; the Kaosheng says to fall; the Book of Documents says 'He sent down his two daughters to the bend of the Gui River'. The second character is [pronounced with the] fanqie [initial and final of] 徒 and 旱; the Qieyun says it means great, or trustworthy; the Yupian says to deceive; the Guangya says it means to give birth; the Shuowen says it takes the 'speech' radical and the phonetic 'yán'; it is also written as 這).
