Confused and bewildered (恍迷: the first character is [pronounced with the] fanqie [initial and final of] 虎 and 晃; the Yupian says it means indistinct; the Laozi says 'Elusive and indistinct, yet within it there is an image'; the Imperial Commentary says 'The thing is the supreme Dao: departing from existence to return to nothingness, returning back to the ultimate Dao, hence it is said that within it there is an image'; the Kaosheng says it means mind-confused and dimmed; it takes the 'heart' radical and the phonetic 'guāng'. The second character is [pronounced with the] fanqie [initial and final of] 莫 and 奚; the Qieyun says it means mistaken; the Shuowen says it means bewildered; it takes the 'walking' radical and the phonetic 'mǐ'; 'chuò' is pronounced with the fanqie [initial and final of] 丑 and 略; written as 辶 it is an altered form).
