羯闌鐸迦 (the last character is ji[āng] + qi[ā] fanqie; formerly named 迦闌陀 and also 迦闌鐸迦, all being corrupt Sanskrit sound-changes. Originally it is kalandaka, which translates as "sweet-voiced bird," meaning that beside Rājagṛha there is a great bamboo grove where this bird mostly perches and dwells, and it was named after it accordingly).
