猶豫（上以周反切韻仍也下羊泇反字書云先也備也考聲云猶豫不定也爾雅云猶如麂陸氏釋文云隴西謂犬子為猶行時豫在人前）。

猶豫 (Hesitant and indecisive: for the first character, fanqie 以周 [yóu], the Qieyun says: 'Still.' For the second character, fanqie 羊泇 [yù], the character book says: 'Prior; also prepared.' The Kaosheng says: '猶豫 means hesitant and unsettled.' The Erya says: 'A 猶 resembles a muntjac.' Master Lu's commentary says: 'In Longxi a puppy is called a 猶; when walking, it remains (豫) in front of people.')
