卒歲（上子聿反說文云終也切韻云盡也既也字從求一聲也律文作𣨛爾雅云𣨛徂落殪𣦸也義乖於卒歲下相𨦣反爾雅云夏曰歲郭注云取歲星行一次也說文云從二止作𣥗戌聲也）。

卒歲 (Passing the year / end of the year: for the first character, fanqie 子聿 [zú], the Shuowen says: 'End.' The Qieyun says: 'Exhausted; also completed. The character is formed from 求 with 一 phonetic.' The vinaya text writes 𣨛; the Erya says: '𣨛 means falling away and dying,' whose meaning conflicts with 卒歲. For the second character, fanqie 相𨦣 [suì], the Erya says: 'In the Xia dynasty it was called 歲.' Guo's commentary says: 'Taken from the Year Star (Jupiter) completing one transit.' The Shuowen says: 'Formed from two 止 to make 𣥗, with 戌 phonetic.')
