未曙（上說文未味也五行木老於未象重𰆰葉也木有滋味也𰆰音枝下常恕反切韻云曉也考聲云明也說文云謂旦日未出從日署聲）。

未曙 (Before dawn: for the first character, the Shuowen says: '未 means flavor (味). In the Five Phases, wood matures in wei; it depicts the dense foliage of branches and leaves. Wood has flavor.' 𰆰 is pronounced like 枝. For the second character, fanqie 常恕 [shù], the Qieyun says: 'Daybreak.' The Kaosheng says: 'Bright.' The Shuowen says: 'Refers to early morning when the sun has not yet appeared; it is formed from 日 [sun] with 署 phonetic.')
