霶霈（上普郎反下普葢反切韻云霶霈大雨也字書云雨盛皃二字並從雨滂沛形聲字也律文作滂沛水流皃非大雨義）。

霶霈 (Torrential rain: for the first character, fanqie 普郎 [pāng]; for the second character, fanqie 普葢 [pèi]. The Qieyun says: '霶霈 means heavy rain.' The character book says: 'The appearance of copious rain.' Both characters are formed from 雨 [rain] with 滂 and 沛 as phonetic elements. The vinaya text writes 滂沛, which describes the flow of water, not heavy rain.)
