Mineral ore (shikuang 石礦: the first character has the fanqie [reading] chang + chi [shi]. The Shiming says: "The substance of a mountain is called stone." The second character has the fanqie [reading] gu + meng [kuang]. The Qieyun says: "Uncut stone containing gold or jade." The Shuowen [jiezi] says: "Unrefined metal." It takes 'stone' [as semantic component] and guang as phonetic. It is also written 𨥥; purple mineral ore is a medicinal name. In the text of the scripture it is written with 'metal' and guang as 鑛, which is a vulgar character in use).
