Manifestly (較然: the first character is pronounced *jiao* [= *jiào* / *jiǎo*]; the *Kaosheng* says it means summary; the *Guangya* says it means bright; the *Erya* says it means straight; the *Shangshu dazhuan* has: "Examining their intentions, their deeds become manifest"; the *Taixuanjing* says: "The ways of the noble person and the petty person are manifestly apparent"; the *Hanshu* says: "It is manifestly easy to know").
