Wren (鷦鷯: the first character is [pronounced] 即霄 [jiāo]; the Erya says: "The tiáochóng is the jiāo." Guo's commentary says: "The peach sparrow; commonly called the skillful woman." The second character is [pronounced] 洛簫 [liáo]; the Qieyun says: "The jiāoliáo is a small bird." Zhuangzi says: "The wren nesting in the deep forest occupies no more than a single branch." The Shuowen says: "Both characters are composed of 鳥 with 焦 and 尞, which are both phonetic").
