【畢陵伽婆蹉（七何切）】此云餘習。五百世為婆羅門，餘氣猶高，過恒水叱小婢駐流，非彼實心，蓋習氣也。或名畢藺（呂進）陀筏蹉，此云餘習，五百生惡性麁言，今得餘習。

[Pilindavatsa] This translates as Residual Habit. For five hundred lifetimes he was a Brahmin, and his residual arrogance remained high; when crossing the Gaṅgā River, he shouted at the river goddess as a "little maidservant" to halt the flow. This was not his true mind, but merely a residual habit. He is also named Bilintuofacha, which translates as Residual Habit; having had an evil nature and harsh speech for five hundred lifetimes, he now acquired residual habit.
