【阿闍世】此云未生怨。妙樂云：「母懷之日，已有惡心。於瓶沙王，未生已惡，故因為名。」或呼婆羅留支，此云無指。妙樂云：「初生，相者云凶。王令升樓撲之不死，但損一指，故為名也。內人將護，呼為善見。」

[Ajātaśatru] Here translated as "Unborn Enmity." The Miaole says: "On the day his mother conceived him, there was already an evil intention. Toward King Bimbisāra, before he was even born there was already enmity, and therefore he was named after this." He is also called Bālaruci, which is translated here as "Fingerless." The Miaole says: "When he was first born, a physiognomist said he was ominous. The king ordered him thrown from a tower, but he did not die, only injuring one finger, hence the name. The women of the palace cared for and protected him, calling him Shanxian (Bhadrika / Sudarśana)."
