【摩訶摩耶】《西域記》云：「唐言大術，或云大幻。」晉《華嚴》：「摩耶夫人答善財言：『我已成就大願智幻法門。得此法門故，為盧舍那如來母。於閻浮提迦毘羅城，淨飯王宮，從右脇生悉達太子，顯現不可思議自在神力。』」《本行經》云：「爾時太子誕生，適滿七日，其太子母摩耶夫人，遂便命終。」《因果經》云：「太子姨母摩訶波闍波提，乳養太子，如母無異。」

[Mahāmāyā] The Record of the Western Regions says: "In the Tang language called Dashu (Great Art), or Dahuan (Great Illusion)." The Jin Avataṃsaka states: "Queen Māyā answered Sudhana, saying: 'I have achieved the Dharma-gate of the great vow's wisdom-illusion. Because I obtained this Dharma-gate, I became the mother of Vairocana Tathāgata. In Jambudvīpa, in the city of Kapilavastu, within King Śuddhodana's palace, Prince Siddhārtha was born from my right side, manifesting inconceivable and sovereign divine power.'" The Benxing jing says: "At that time, seven days after the prince was born, the prince's mother, Queen Māyā, passed away." The Yinguo jing says: "The prince's aunt, Mahāprajāpatī, nursed and raised the prince no differently from his mother."
