【薩達磨芬陀利】此云妙法蓮華。天台云：「妙名不可思議；法謂十界十如權實之法；蓮華者，喻權實之法也。」慈恩云：「藻宏綱之極唱，旌一部之都名。法含軌持，綰群祥以稱妙；華兼秀發，總眾美而彰蓮。」

[Saddharmapuṇḍarīka] This translates as "the Lotus of the Wonderful Dharma". Tiantai says: "'Wonderful' means inconceivable; 'Dharma' refers to the provisional and real dharmas of the ten realms and ten suchnesses; 'Lotus' is a metaphor for the provisional and real dharmas." Ci'en says: "It adorns the ultimate chant of the grand principle; it signifies the overarching name of the entire work. The Dharma encompasses rules and upholds principles, binding all auspicious things so as to be called wonderful; the lotus combines elegance and bloom, uniting all beauties so as to manifest as the lotus."
