六、喻電者，《經律異相》明四電師。或云電是龍瞬眼生光。《五經通義》曰：電，雷光也。顧凱之曰：電，陰陽相觸為雷電。經取疾速之象，令悟無常之法。性通達者，當起信志（此釋六種能喻）。其所譬法，今述頌曰：

Sixth, the metaphor of lightning: the Jinglü yixiang explains four masters of lightning. Some say that lightning is the light produced when dragons blink their eyes. The Wujing tongyi says: 'Lightning is the light of thunder.' Gu Kaizhi said: 'Lightning is yin and yang striking against each other to become thunder and lightning.' The sūtra takes the image of swiftness to cause one to awaken to the dharma of impermanence. Those whose nature has penetrated this should arouse the resolve of faith (this explains the six illustrative metaphors). As for the dharmas illustrated, a verse is now composed, saying:
