（天類）【提和越】漢言天地。《易》曰：「天地設位，而易行乎其中矣！」〈繫詞〉云：「易與天地準，故能彌綸天地之道。仰以觀於天文，俯以察其地理。」《白虎通》曰：「天之為言鎮也，居高理下，為人鎮也。地者，易也，言生萬物懷任，交易變化也。」

(Heaven category) [Devā / Tiheyue]: In Chinese, 'heaven and earth'. The Yijing states: 'Heaven and earth set their positions, and the changes proceed within them.' The Xici states: 'The Changes matches heaven and earth, therefore it can encompass the Dao of heaven and earth. Looking up, one observes the patterns of heaven; looking down, one examines the contours of the earth.' The Baihu tong states: 'The word "tian" (heaven) means to suppress (zhen); dwelling on high and governing below, it serves as the suppression for mankind. "Di" (earth) means change (yi); it means giving birth to the myriad things, conceiving and bearing them, alternating and transforming.'
