The bhikṣu Shi Saṅghasenā originally aspired to the Mahāyāna, studied the tripiṭaka and mahāvibhāṣā-vyākaraṇa, and was conversant with all texts. He recorded these three chapters and nine true passages (dharmas) of the Tridharmaka, compiling and explaining this scripture.
