Regarding the *Pratyutpanna-samādhi-sūtra*: on the eighth day of the tenth month in the second year of Guanghe [179 CE], the Indian bodhisattva Lokakṣema translated it in Luoyang. The bodhisattva Dharmarakṣa—those who orally conveyed the language at the time were the Yuezhi bodhisattva Lokakṣema instructing Meng Fu, courtesy name Yuanshi, of Luoyang in Henan, an attending bodhisattva; and Zhang Lian, courtesy name Shao'an, recorded it with the brush. It was caused to be widely circulated thereafter. In the thirteenth year of Jian'an [208 CE], it was collated and brought to completion in a Buddhist temple. Those who copy it in later times will all attain namo buddhāya. Another account says: it was collated at a temple in Xuchang on the eighth day of the eighth month in the third year of Jian'an, the year being wuzi [198 CE].
