(The cataloguer says: The organizational principles of Sengyou's catalogue are worthy of consideration, yet if one investigates them in detail, errors and discrepancies are not lacking. For instance, in Fascicle 1, in the 'Record of Differences in Earlier and Later Translations of Sūtras,' equating the older sūtras' dasa'ajie aluohe sanyesanfo with the newer sūtras' anoutuoluo sanmiao sanputi is the first error. If pairing old and new opposites, one should say: the older sūtras' dasa'ajie aluohe sanyesanfo corresponds to the newer sūtras' duotuo'aqiedu aluohe sanmiao sanfoutuo, and the older sūtras' anoutuoluo sanyesanpu corresponds to the newer sūtras' anoutuoluo sanmiao sanputi. The two meanings are completely different and must not be conflated. Furthermore, Dharmarakṣa (Tanmoluoca) and Zhu Fahu are the same person—'Tanmo' means 'Fa' (Dharma), and 'Luoca' means 'Hu' (Rakṣa)—yet he splits him into two persons; this is the second error. In the catalogue of different translations of sūtras and śāstras, whenever titles merely resemble one another, he calls them re-translations, without scrutinizing them carefully, thus conflating Mahāyāna and Hīnayāna; this is the third error. The preface to the Saṅgharakṣa Compilation states that it was compiled by Zhonghu; 'Sengqie' means 'Zhong' (Saṅgha), and 'Luoca' means 'Hu' (Rakṣa). Zhonghu was the person who compiled the sūtras, but the preface was written by the translator, yet [Sengyou] attributed its title to Zhonghu; this is the fourth error. These various mistakes are exceedingly glaring; they are indeed blemishes on fine jade.)
