(Regarding the above Diamond Purity Sūtra, various catalogues all state that it was translated by Zhi Qian, a foreign upāsaka under the Wu, but it was also listed as an anonymous translation after the Han. As for the Buddha Siṃhacandra Sūtra, various catalogues all state that it was translated by Dharmarakṣa, Tripiṭaka master under the Western Jin. Now, examining the sentences and phrases of both sūtras, neither was translated by Zhi Qian or Dharmarakṣa; they seem rather to have been translated from the Qin and Liang eras onwards by Kumārajīva and others. Now, having lost their source, they are attached to the Qin catalogue.)
Sūtra of the Wife of Elder Fazhi, one fascicle.
Anonymous translation. (Recorded in Master Daoan's Catalogue of Variant Sūtras from the Liang Region; now also attached to the Liang catalogue)
Sūtra of the State of Sāla, one fascicle. (Sometimes called Sūtra of the King of the State of Sāla)
Anonymous translation. (Now attached to the Eastern Jin catalogue)
Regarding the above two sūtras: Fashang's catalogue states for both that they were translated by Kumārajīva, Tripiṭaka master under the Yao Qin. Now, examining the sentences and phrases of both sūtras, neither was translated by Master Kumārajīva; they seem rather to have been translated during the Jin or Wei eras. As for the Sūtra of the Wife of Fazhi, its title was already recorded in Master Daoan's Catalogue of Variant Sūtras from the Liang Region, so it is now also attached to the Liang catalogue. The Sūtra of the State of Sāla is attached to the Jin catalogue.
Daśamaṅgala-sūtra, one fascicle.
Anonymous translation; now attached to the Qin catalogue.
Sūtra on the Definitive Lion's Roar of Amrapālī, Daughter of the Elder, one fascicle.
Anonymous translation. (Now attached to the Liang catalogue; entered as a recovered omission)
Sūtra on the Causes and Conditions of Compassion and Abstention from Meat of the All-Knowing Luminous Sage, one fascicle.
(Anonymous translation; now attached to the Qin catalogue)
Vajrasamādhi-sūtra, two fascicles. (Or one fascicle)
Anonymous translation under the Northern Liang. (Entered as a recovered omission)
Sūtra on the Total Extinction of the Dharma, one fascicle. An anonymous translation in Sengyou's catalogue. (Now attached to the Song catalogue)
Sūtra on the Profound Great Dedication of Merit, one fascicle.
An anonymous translation in Sengyou's catalogue. (Now attached to the Song catalogue)
Sūtra of Prince Pira, Son of the Heavenly King, one fascicle. (Sometimes lacks the words 'Heavenly King'; also written as Pira [辟羅/譬羅])
Sengyou's catalogue lists it as Master Daoan's variant sūtra from Guanzhong. (Now attached to the Qin catalogue; entered as a recovered omission)
Sūtra on the Dharma Gate of Pure Conduct for Upāsikās, two fascicles. (Also simply called Sūtra of Pure Conduct, or without the word 'Sūtra')
Sengyou's catalogue lists it as Master Daoan's variant sūtra from the Liang region. (Now attached to the Liang catalogue)
Sūtra on the Eight Realizations of the Great Beings, one fascicle.
Translated by An Shigao, Tripiṭaka master from Parthia under the Later Han. (Appears in Baochang's catalogue)
Sūtra on the Three Grades of Disciples, one fascicle. (Also called Sūtra on the Disciples' Study Comprising Three Classes)
Translated by Zhi Qian, Yuezhi upāsaka under the Wu.
Sūtra on the Four Groups, one fascicle. (Also called Sūtra on the Four Groups of Disciples, or Sūtra on the Learning of the Four Groups)
Translated by Dharmarakṣa, Tripiṭaka master under the Western Jin. (Appears in Fashang's catalogue)
Sūtra on Future Transformations, one fascicle. (Also called Sūtra on the Transformation of Consciousness in the Future)
Translated by Dharmarakṣa, Tripiṭaka master under the Western Jin.
Sūtra on Past Buddhas' Begging for Food, one fascicle. (Sometimes written with 'Past World' instead of 'Past')
Translated by Dharmarakṣa, Tripiṭaka master under the Western Jin.
Sūtra on the Twelve Dhūtas, one fascicle. (Also known as Sūtra on Śramaṇa Dhūtas)
Translated by Guṇabhadra, Tripiṭaka master from India under the Song.
Sūtra of Jyotiṣka, one fascicle.
Translated by Guṇabhadra, Tripiṭaka master from India under the Song.
Sūtra of King Dīrghāyu, one fascicle.
Sengyou's catalogue lists it as Master Daoan's anonymous translation. (Now attached to the Western Jin catalogue)
Regarding this Sūtra of King Dīrghāyu: The Great Zhou and other catalogues claim it derives from the Āgamas. Upon careful examination, this sūtra is not found within the four Āgamas at all. Although the sixteenth fascicle of the Ekottarika-āgama contains an account of King Dīrghāyu, the text and meaning are entirely different. This work belongs to the Mahāyāna, and is therefore catalogued here.
Sūtra on the Eternal Abiding of the Dharma, one fascicle.
Sengyou's catalogue lists it as Master Daoan's anonymous translation. (Now attached to the Western Jin catalogue)
The above twenty-three sūtras in twenty-five fascicles are in the same case. (The ten sūtras from the Sūtra on the Pure Conduct of Upāsikās onward were all catalogued within the Hīnayāna section in the old catalogues. Now, upon examination, their text and doctrine mostly concern the Mahāyāna; placing them among the Hīnayāna is feared to go against the ultimate principle, so they have been transferred here.)
