(The above single collection of incantations was classified in the Great Zhou Catalogue as a single translation of the Mahāyāna, and furthermore said to be an anonymous translation; this is not so. Upon inspecting its text, it is indeed a compilation gathered in this land and not an independent translation from a Sanskrit original. How is this known? Texts such as the Qifo shenzhou jing and the Tuolinni bo jing were both translated in the Jin dynasty; the Hu zhutongzi tuoluoni jing was translated by Bodhiruci under the Northern Wei; moreover, the Tuolinni bo jing and the Zuisheng dengwang jing are two different translations of the same text. Because texts such as these have all been gathered together into it, it is certainly not transmitted from a Sanskrit text, but must be an compilation authored in this land. Not yet knowing precisely who compiled it, it is described here thus).
