In total, for the Mahāyāna sūtras, vinayas, and śāstras presently entered into the canon, there are 638 works in 2,745 fascicles and 258 cases.
The reason the number of works differs from the previous Detailed Catalogue is that in the previous Detailed Catalogue, the constituent sections of the Mahāratnakūṭa-sūtra were divided into 49 works and recorded above, whereas here they are combined into one work, thus missing 48 works, which accounts for the difference.
