Śramaṇa Shi Faju. His ancestry and clan are also unknown. His caliber and capacity were lofty and outstanding, and he held wide travel and teaching in his heart. During the reign of Emperor Hui, he initially translated sūtras jointly with Fali. After Fali passed away, Faju then personally translated forty works such as the Sūtra on King Udayana. Furthermore, catalogues such as Changfang's list various other sūtras, all attributing them to Faju's translation. At present, these are all considered extracted texts mistakenly entered by cataloguers, and they have all been eliminated now as described below:
Sūtra on Seasonable and Unseasonable (also simply called Sūtra on Time; according to the postscript of the sūtra, it was not translated by Faju, as discussed below);
Sūtra on the Māra Maiden Hearing the Buddha Preach the Dharma and Attaining a Male Body (extracted from the Mahāsaṃnipāta Sūtra);
Sūtra on the Past Vows of the Bhikṣu of Great Compassion (extracted from the Karuṇāpuṇḍarīka Sūtra);

Sūtra on Ransoming Sins at Mount Tai with Gold;
Sūtra on Devadatta Teaching People to Do Evil (the two sūtras above both extracted from the Liudu ji [jing]);
Sūtra on the People's Joy at the Buddha's Subduing of Aṅgulimāla;
Sūtra on Aṅgulimāla's Conversion (or saying His Wife Died, which must be an error; the two sūtras above both extracted from the Aṅgulimālīya Sūtra);
Sūtra on the Son of Vaidehī Inquiring of the Consort on a Moonlit Night (or written Devaputra; extracted from the Dīrgha-āgama);
Sūtra on Meritorious Practices;
Sūtra on the Evil Destinies (also named Sūtra on Evil Thoughts, or written Essential Meaning, which must be an error; the catalogue's dual recording of both Evil Destinies and Evil Thoughts is erroneous);
Sūtra on Calming Anger;
Sūtra on Softness;
Sūtra on Receiving and Upholding;
Sūtra on Fame;
Sūtra on Bhūmi;
(The seven sūtras from Meritorious Practices downward are all extracted from the Madhyama-āgama);
