Mahīśāsaka Bhikṣu Prātimokṣa (Five-Part Bhikṣu Prātimokṣa), 1 fascicle (also called Mahīśāsaka Prātimokṣa; recorded in Zhu Daozu's Catalogue and Sengyou's Catalogue)

Śramaṇa Buddhajīva, translated in Song as Jueshou ("Awakened Life"), was a native of Jibin. In his youth, he studied under the Mahīśāsaka school. He was specialized and adept in the vinaya sections and also conversant with the essentials of dhyāna. In the seventh month of the first year of Jingping, a guihai year, under the deposed emperor Yifu [423 CE], he arrived at the capital of Yangdu. Previously, the śramaṇa Faxian had obtained a Sanskrit manuscript of the Mahīśāsaka-vinaya in the Lion Country [Sri Lanka], but passed away before he had the chance to translate it. The monks of Jianye, hearing that Buddhajīva was skilled in this learning, thereupon requested him to produce it. Thus, in the eleventh month, winter of that year, they assembled at Longguang Temple to translate it, entitling it the Five-Part Vinaya. Buddhajīva held the Sanskrit text; the Khotanese śramaṇa Zhisheng transmitted the words; and the śramaṇa Zhu Daosheng of Longguang Temple along with śramaṇa Shi Huiyan of Dong'an Temple jointly held the brush and verified [the rendering]. The Song attendant-in-ordinary Wang Lian of Langya was the dānapati. It was completed only in the twelfth month of the following year. He further produced the Prātimokṣa and Karman texts, which circulated widely in the world. Where Buddhajīva ended his life is unknown.

Sūtra on the Contemplation of the Buddha of Immeasurable Life, 1 fascicle (also called Sūtra on the Contemplation of Immeasurable Life; first translation; recorded in Daohui's Song-Qi Catalogue and Gaoseng Zhuan)
Sūtra on the Contemplation of the Two Bodhisattvas Bhaiṣajyarāja and Bhaiṣajyasamudgata, 1 fascicle (second translation; recorded in the Song-Qi Catalogue and Gaoseng Zhuan)
The above 2 works in 2 fascicles; their texts are extant.

Śramaṇa Kālayaśas, translated in Song as Shicheng ("Time-Praised"), was a native of the Western Regions. He was by nature firm, upright, and of few desires. He was skilled in reciting the Abhidharma and well-versed in the vinaya piṭaka. He was also widely comprehensive in other sūtras. Although he was illumined in all three piṭakas, he made the method of dhyāna his specialization. Every time he entered meditative contemplation, he would sometimes not rise for seven days. He constantly transmitted and converted various regions through samādhi and proper attainment. In the first year of Yuanjia, a jiazi year [424 CE], he ventured far across the desert sands and arrived at Jianye. Emperor Wen, Yilong, held him in deep admiration and issued an imperial decree for him to reside at Daolin Hermitage on Mount Zhong. Śramaṇa Baozhi revered his dhyāna methods. Śramaṇa Senghan requested him to translate the Contemplation of Immeasurable Life and the Contemplation of Bhaiṣajyarāja and Bhaiṣajyasamudgata; Senghan himself received the translation with the brush. Because these two sūtras are great causes for the Pure Land and secret methods for turning away obstacles, they were contemplated, relished, and circulated throughout the Song state. Meng Yi of Pingchang, hearing of his reputation, revered him and provided abundant provisions. When Yi was appointed to govern Kuaiji, he firmly invited him, but Kālayaśas did not comply. Later, he moved to rest in Jiangling. In the nineteenth year of Yuanjia [442 CE], he traveled west to Min and Shu; everywhere he propagated the Way, dhyāna students gathered in crowds. Later, he returned and died in Jiangling at the age of sixty.

Hasti-kakṣya Sūtra, 1 fascicle (fourth translation; same text as the Sūtra of No Expectation, etc.; recorded in Li Kuo's Catalogue)

Sūtra on the Buddha Ascending to Trāyastriṃśa Heaven to Expound the Dharma for His Mother, 1 fascicle (third translation; same text as Dharmarakṣa's Sūtra on the Buddha Ascending to Trāyastriṃśa Heaven, etc.; recorded in Li Kuo's Catalogue)
Sūtra on the Contemplation of the Buddha of Immeasurable Life, 1 fascicle (second translation; same text as the translation by Kālayaśas; recorded in Baochang's Catalogue)
Secret Essentials of Dhyāna Sūtra, 5 fascicles (sometimes without the word 'Sūtra'; also named Essentials of Dhyāna Method; translated at Jetavana Temple in the eighteenth year of Yuanjia; sometimes in 3 fascicles; recorded in Sengyou's Catalogue; third translation; presently there is a Secret Essentials of Dhyāna Sūtra in 5 fascicles whose text is exceedingly tangled and cannot be circulated, as explained in the Catalogue of Pruned Redundancies)
The above 12 works in 17 fascicles (the seven works in 7 fascicles up to the Five-Gate Dhyāna Sūtra are extant; the five works in 10 fascicles from the Sūtra of Immeasurable Life downwards are lost texts).

Śramaṇa Dharmamitra, translated in Song as Faxiu ("Ornament of the Dharma"), was a native of Jibin. When he was six or seven years old, his mind was pure and upright. Whenever he saw Dharma rituals, he would spontaneously leap with joy. His family, loving him and marveling at this, eventually allowed him to go forth as a monk. Jibin produced many holy and realized masters, and he repeatedly encountered enlightened teachers.
