(The Chen catalogue says it is an extract from the fifth fascicle.)
*Weitixi zi yueye wen furen jing* (Sūtra on the Son of Vaidehī Asking the Lady on a Moonlit Night), one fascicle.
(Some write "deva" [for "lady"]. Sengyou's catalogue says it is an extract. The Chen catalogue says it is an extract from the seventh [fascicle] of the *Dīrghāgama*. Newly entered above.)
*Sanyinyuan jing* (Sūtra on the Three Causal Conditions), one fascicle.
(The Chen catalogue says it is an extract from the twentieth fascicle.)
*Tiandi chengbai jing* (Sūtra on the Formation and Destruction of Heaven and Earth), one fascicle.
(The Chen catalogue says it is an extract from the *Shiji* [World-Genesis]. Sengyou's catalogue says it is an extract from multiple sūtras.)
The five sūtras from *Dajaye* down all derive from the *Dīrghāgama*.
*Anan huo jing* (Sūtra on Ānanda's Doubt), one fascicle.
(Derives from the *Ren ben yu sheng jing*.)

(An extract from the *Shi'er men jing*; shared teaching of the three vehicles clarifying meditation. Newly entered above.)

(An extract from the *Shi'er men jing*; same as the preceding. Newly entered above.)
*Di-san simen jing* (Third Sūtra of the Four Gates), one fascicle.
(Namely the *Ganlu daolü jing*. Some do not call it the "Third of the Four Gates" but directly call it *Ganlu daolü jing*. Newly entered above.)
*Ganlu zhengyi jing* (Sūtra on the Nectar of Correct Thought), one fascicle.
(Also called *Fo ru ganlu diao zhengyi jing*; clarifies meditation. Sengyou calls it *Fo ru ganlu diaoyi jing*.)
The four sūtras from *Di-yi simen* down all derive from the *Shi'er damen jing*. Sengyou says: "From the first of the four gates to the *Ganlu diaoyi*, there are four chapters in total, which together constitute the single work of the *Da shi'er men jing*. Later people divided them by chapter and copied them out, which ended up forming four separate sūtras."
The fourteen works in fourteen fascicles, including the *Dajaye yu niganzi jing* and others, are all separate offshoot sūtras of the *Dīrghāgama* class.

The twenty-four fascicles from *Fuxing jing* down all derive from the *Madhyamāgama*.
According to the *Zhongjing lu* compiled in the second year of Kaihuang and Renshou of the Sui, there were further: the *Qizhi jing*, the *Lishui jing*, the *Shousui jing*, the *Fanzhi ji shui jing jing*, the *Kuyin jing*, the *Kuyin yinshi jing*, the *Lexiang jing*, the *Anoufeng jing*, the *Fuyin jing*, the *Huangzhuyuan jing*, the *Zunshang jing*, the *Yi jing*, the *Yingfa jing*, the *Pimosu jing*, the *Xiejian jing*, and the *Jianyu jing*. These sixteen sūtras were also said to derive from the *Madhyamāgama*. Now, having collated them against the text of the base sūtra, they are alternate translations and not separate offshoots; they have already been entered into the main catalogue. The *Fumu xi nan bao jing* was also said to be a separate offshoot; now collating its text shows discrepancies, so for the present it is entered in the current catalogue.

Sūtra on the Six Declining Matters, in one fascicle (Sengyou's catalogue says it is among the translations; now seeing its text, it says it comes from the Ekottarika-āgama, four and a half sheets). Newly compiled above.
Sūtra on Maitreya's Descent to Earth, in one fascicle (from fascicle forty-four; the Buddha was in Śrāvastī and expounded it at Ānanda's request). Newly compiled above.
Ekottarika-āgama Sūtra, in one fascicle (from fascicle twenty-one, three sheets). Newly compiled above.
Sūtra on Cultivating the Sevenfold Practice and Receiving Manifest Retribution, in one fascicle (from fascicle thirty-four, one sheet). Newly compiled above.
Sūtra on the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination, in one fascicle (from fascicle forty-six; formerly mistakenly placed in the Mahāyāna canon; three sheets). Newly compiled above.
The twenty-six works in twenty-six fascicles from the Sūtra on the Simile of the Flying Bird downward all come from the Ekottarika-āgama.
According to the Catalogues of the Multitude of Sūtras from the Sui Kaihuang [and Renshou] periods, Renshou 2, there are further three sūtras,
namely the Sūtra on the Appearance of Four Persons, the Sūtra on the Brāhmaṇa Evading Death, and the Sūtra on the Four Narakas,
which also say they come from the Ekottarika-āgama. Now having examined them, these are variant translations, not offshoot extracts. Having already been compiled into the catalogue, they are omitted here. As for the two sūtras, the Ekottarika-āgama [Sūtra] and the Cultivating the Sevenfold Practice and Receiving Manifest Retribution, formerly they were said to come from the Ekottarika-āgama, yet having been called variant translations, they were compiled into the catalogue of extant works. Now having examined them, they are offshoot extracts and not variant translations. The Sūtra on the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination, the Sūtra on Maitreya's Descent to Earth, and the Sūtra on the Six Declining Matters also come from the Ekottarika-āgama, and are therefore appended to this catalogue.

Sūtra on Developing Revulsion toward the Form of the Four Great Elements, in one fascicle (from fascicle twelve).
Sūtra on the Buddha Expounding to Acela Kāśyapa that Suffering Is Made by Oneself or Others, in one fascicle (Sengyou's catalogue says it is an extract; the Chen catalogue says it is an extract from the Saṃyukta-[āgama]; from fascicle thirteen).

The one hundred and thirty-two sūtras from the Sūtra on the Buddha Expounding Four Dharmas for a Brahmin downwards are all derived from the Saṃyuktāgama. Following the Renshou 2nd year (Kaihuang era) Catalogues of Canonical Scriptures of the Sui dynasty, there were eight further sūtras, namely: Sūtra on the Seven Abodes and Three Contemplations, Purṇa, Sūtra on Being Carried Away by Water Foam, Sūtra on the Eight States of Horses, and Sūtra on Being Accordant and Appropriate. Upon examining the texts of these five sūtras, they are actually alternate translations and not separate extractions. Furthermore, there are the Sūtra on Counting, the Sūtra on Mindful Recollection of the Tathāgata with Eleven Marks, and the Sūtra on Contemplating the Body. Among them, the Sūtra on Counting is derived from the Madhyamāgama.

Now, having obtained their texts, upon collation they are identical with the Saṃyuktāgama. Among them, the Dufu zhangzhe jing (Sūtra on the Sole Wealthy Elder) and the Ban amoleguo jing (Sūtra on the Half Āmalaka Fruit) were already recorded among the separately circulating extracts in the Sui Zhongjing lu. Qingxinshi ayishanchi fuzi jing (Sūtra on the Layman Ayishanchi and His Son), in one fascicle (sometimes without the characters fuzi; extracted from fascicle 5)
Fufu jing (Sūtra on Husband and Wife), in one fascicle (extracted from fascicle 5)
Sahedawang jing (Sūtra on King Sarvadatta), in one fascicle (extracted from fascicle 5)
Shouda jing (Sūtra on Sudatta), in one fascicle (also called Weixian shouda jing; extracted from fascicle 5) — Newly entered above.
The 54 works in 54 fascicles beginning with the Nālai jing all come from the Jātaka-sūtra (Sheng jing).
This Jātaka-sūtra has altogether 55 sūtras in its upper and lower parts. Its fiftieth, the Piyu jing (Parable Sūtra), is separated out into two sūtras including the Saheda [wang jing], making 56 in total. Among these 56, excluding the Zongchi jing and the Gudu jing, there are 54 sūtras besides these two.
Recorded in the catalogue of separately circulating texts.
Furthermore, in the separately circulating extracts of the Sui Zhongjing lu, there are four more sūtras, namely: Mingguo shen jing, Xiangwang jing, Jigou jing, and Bayang shenzhou jing, all stated to come from the Sheng jing. Now upon examination, none of these sūtras are found within the Sheng jing. Since they are absent upon inspecting the text, they are excluded and not entered. Among these 54 sūtras, there are Hu zhu biqiu zhou jing, Wuju jing, Bie yu jing, Pusa ceng wei bie wang jing, Huizi jing, Ma yu jing, and Saheda jing. The above eight sūtras are newly entered into this catalogue. Among them, the five sūtras Wuju, Bie yu, Huizi, Ma yu, and Shouda are stated by the Zhongjing lu to come from the Za piyu [jing]. For the two sūtras Hu zhu biqiu zhou and Saheda, the Zhongjing lu states they are extracts of the Mahāyāna and Hīnayāna, with their origin unknown. Now, because they are all identical with the titles in the Sheng jing, they are catalogued here. As for the Pusa ceng wei bie wang jing, You's statement that the translator is lost was mistaken. Since it is identical with this one, it is entered in this catalogue.
Fanzhi guan wuchang de jietuo jing (Sūtra on the Brahman Contemplating Impermanence and Attaining Liberation), in one fascicle (the same sūtra as the Jietanwang jing, divided into two according to circumstances; extracted from the first fascicle)
Jietanwang jing (Sūtra on King Jietan), in one fascicle (extracted from the first fascicle)
Xutuoli jing (Sūtra on Sundarī), in one fascicle (You says the translator is lost; extracted from the first fascicle) — Newly entered above.
Mojie fanzhi jing (Sūtra on the Brahman Māgandiya), in one fascicle (You says it comes from the Yizu [jing]; extracted from the first fascicle) — Newly entered above.
Fanzhi yizheng de jietuo jing (Sūtra on the Brahman Doubtful and Contending Attaining Liberation), in one fascicle (the same sūtra as the Jingmianwang jing, divided into two according to circumstances; extracted from the first fascicle)

Jingmianwang jing (Sūtra on King Mirror-Face), in one fascicle (also present in the Liudu ji, largely identical with this; extracted from the first fascicle)

Lianhuase biqiuni jing (Sūtra on the Nun Utpalavarṇā), in one fascicle (You says the translator is lost; extracted from the second fascicle) — Newly entered above.
The 14 works in 14 fascicles beginning with the Jietanwang jing all come from the Yizu jing (Arthapada-sūtra).
As for the Mojie fanzhi jing, Sengyou's catalogue says it comes from the Yizu jing. As for the four sūtras Xutuoli jing, Laoshao jusi jing, [Mei]le nan jing, and Lianhuase biqiuni jing, You says their translators are lost. As for the Yinren yizhongxing jing, Fang says its translator is lost. Now upon collation, they are all identical with this, hence they are catalogued here.
Examining the Yizu [jing], it has 16 sūtras in total across its upper and lower fascicles. Now excluding the Youtianwang jing, Yixue jiaofei jing, Zifu gonghui jing, and Weiloule zhu shizhong jing—excluding these four—the remaining two sūtras are divided into 14, and therefore recorded in this catalogue.
Shanshi ewang jing (Sūtra on the Auspicious Goose King), in one fascicle (extracted from the Saddharmasmṛtyupasthāna-sūtra)
Muqiang cijiao yinyuan jing (Sūtra on the Nidāna of the Wooden Stake Piercing the Foot), in one fascicle (extracted from the Xingqixing jing)
Piyu liuren jing (Sūtra on the Parable of the Six People), in one fascicle (also called Liuren yu jing; extracted from the Mayi jing)
Asheshiwang wen yan cong he sheng jing (Sūtra on King Ajātaśatru Asking Where the Eye Originates), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Buyu poluomen deng zhengsong jing (Sūtra on Not Contending with Brahmans and Others), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Mohe biqiu jing (Sūtra on the Great Monk), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Waidao xianni shuodu jing (Sūtra on the Deliverance Taught to the Heretical Śreṇika), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Du fanzhi jing (Sūtra on Delivering the Brahman), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Ji wangren buxing tan jing (Sūtra on Not Practicing Greed when Sacrificing to the Deceased), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Sandu jing (Sūtra on the Three Poisons), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Sishi jing (Sūtra on the Four Nutriments), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Tiaoda yu jing (Sūtra on the Parable of Devadatta), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Ershiba tian jing (Sūtra on the Twenty-Eight Deva Realms), in one fascicle (recorded among the lost translations in You's catalogue; eight and a half sheets) — Newly entered above.
Shouzhi wenfo shisi shi [jing] (Sūtra on Śuciloma Asking the Buddha Fourteen Matters), in one fascicle (also called Shisi yi; also called Shisi zhang; two and a half sheets) — Newly entered above.
Shuxi shi (Matters on Counting the Breath), in one fascicle (You says Shuo shuxi shi; two sheets) — Newly entered above.
Regarding the nine sūtras beginning with the Asheshiwang [jing], You's catalogue states they are extracts but does not point out what they are drawn from. Regarding the three sūtras beginning with the Ershiba tian [jing], upon examining their texts, they are all extracts, yet it is not precisely known from which sūtra or vinaya they come. Furthermore, in the Renshou Zhongjing lu of the Sui, there are altogether 213 works in 227 fascicles of Hīnayāna separately circulating extracts, which also do not indicate their sources. Now upon examining the catalogues of various dynasties, most have already recorded them. For that catalogue to treat the Shou shishan jie jing, Jiading biqiu jing, and others as separately circulating extracts is unreasonable. Since there is no precise evidence, it is difficult to rely upon them. They are briefly recounted as above; the rest are deleted.
