Mahāyāna scriptures (462 works, 1,963 fascicles, 196 cases). / Mahāyāna vinaya (23 works, 49 fascicles, 5 cases). / Mahāyāna treatises (88 works, 520 fascicles, 51 cases). / The above constitute the upper fascicle of the catalogue of canon entries. / Hīnayāna scriptures (207 works, 443 fascicles, 44 cases). / Hīnayāna vinaya (35 works, 260 fascicles, 28 cases). / Hīnayāna treatises (36 works, 740 fascicles, 73 cases). / Anthologies and biographies of sages and saints, 21 works (41 fascicles, 4 cases). / The above constitute the lower fascicle of the catalogue of canon entries (calculating the total count of works and fascicles carefully, they conflict with the counts inside the fascicles; this is an unfinalized text). / Catalogue of Apocryphal Scriptures in one fascicle (228 works, 419 fascicles). / The above, combined with the catalogue of apocryphal scriptures, total fifteen fascicles (The compiler says: At the time this catalogue was authorized and compiled, the masters of the Dharma were like a forest, their virtue heavy and their fame eminent. They were unable to inspect it personally, but merely directed younger scholars to assemble and compose it. The discrepancies and omissions in it amount to almost half. This was entrusting it to the wrong persons; the fault lay in how abilities were employed. Moreover, in fascicle 12, the missing scriptures total 478 works in 677 fascicles; these were already included in the preceding eleven fascicles. Now, calculating comprehensively, they claim this reaches a total of 5,616 works in 8,641 fascicles: this is not so. Falsely increasing the works and fascicles, when examined against reality they do not exist. Various other confusions are hard to record completely.
