At that time, the great king arose again, made obeisance, and said to the Buddha: "Bhagavat! How do all bodhisattvas protect the buddha-fruit? How do they protect the conditions of practicing the ten stages?" The Buddha said: "A bodhisattva transforms the four kinds of beings without viewing form as suchness, feeling, perception, volitional formations, or consciousness as suchness; without viewing sentient beings, self, person, permanence, bliss, self, and purity as suchness; without viewing the knower, seer, or living soul as suchness; without viewing the bodhisattva as suchness; without viewing all the practices of the six pāramitās and four means of embrace as suchness; and without viewing the two truths as suchness. Therefore, the nature of all dharmas is true emptiness: neither coming nor going, neither arising nor ceasing, identical with the bhūta-koṭi, equal to the dharmatā, without duality and without distinction, like space. Therefore, the aggregates, sense bases, and elements are without self and without marks of existence; this is the prajñāpāramitā for a bodhisattva practicing the conversion of the ten stages."
