"Good sons! These fourteen dharma gates are what all sentient beings, all three vehicles, and all buddhas of the three periods of time have cultivated and gathered, and so will future buddhas. If any buddhas and bodhisattvas do not attain sarvajñā through this gate, there is no such possibility. Why is this? Because all buddhas and bodhisattvas have no other path. Therefore, all good sons, if anyone hears these dharma gates of forbearance—faith forbearance, ceasing forbearance, firm forbearance, good-awakening forbearance, detachment forbearance, luminous-wisdom forbearance, blazing-wisdom forbearance, victorious-wisdom forbearance, dharma-manifestation forbearance, far-reaching forbearance, equal-awakening forbearance, wisdom-light forbearance, consecration forbearance, and complete-awakening forbearance—this person will transcend the sufferings and hardships of births through hundreds of kalpas, thousands of kalpas, and immeasurable Gaṅgā sands of lives, enter this dharma gate, and attain their retribution in the present body."
