"Great King! Because the six consciousnesses of ordinary beings are coarse, they apprehend immeasurable nominal dharmas of form, such as blue, yellow, square, and round under conventional designations. Because the six consciousnesses of noble persons are pure, they apprehend real dharmas: all real dharmas of form such as visible form, sound, fragrance, and touch. 'Sentient being' is a name in conventional truth. Whether existing or non-existing, what only arises from the conceptual memory of sentient beings is called conventional truth. Conventional truth exists because it is conventional, deceptive, illusory, and transformed, extending even to the six destinies being illusory and transformed, sentient beings seeing what is illusory and transformed, illusions seeing illusions, and Brahmans, Kṣatriyas, Vaiśyas, Śūdras, the ātman, and so forth, both form and mind, being called the illusory truth; in the illusory truth, dharmas do not exist. Before a buddha appears in the world, there are no names, no meaningful designations; illusory dharmas and transformations have no names, no substance or marks, no names of the three realms, and no names of good and evil retributions or the six destinies.
