“Good sons! Such a dharma master is a bodhisattva of the habituation-disposition. Whether laymen, laywomen, or renunciant monks and nuns, they cultivate the ten virtuous deeds, contemplating their own bodies and that the components of earth, water, fire, wind, space, and consciousness are part by part impure. Furthermore, they contemplate the fourteen faculties—namely, the five affective faculties, the five feeling faculties, masculinity, femininity, mind, life, and so forth—as having limitless faults and transgressions; they then generate the supreme aspiration for awakening. Constantly contemplating that all things across the three realms are impure in thought after thought, they attain the contemplation-gate of patience regarding impurity. Dwelling in the house of the Buddha, they cultivate the six reverent harmonies—namely, sharing the same precepts, views, and training through the three karmic activities—and practice the paths of eighty-four thousand pāramitās.
