"Great King! In future ages, the kings of various small states and the fourfold assembly of disciples, having personally created these sins that are the causes and conditions for destroying the state, will suffer them in their own bodies; it is not the Buddha, the Dharma, or the Saṅgha [who cause it]. Great King! In future ages, those who propagate this sūtra are vessels of the Dharma of the seven buddhas, walking the Way constantly trodden by all buddhas of the ten directions. Evil monks, largely seeking fame and profit, will personally expound to kings, crown princes, and royal princes the causes and conditions for destroying the Buddha-Dharma and destroying the state. Those kings, failing to discern [the truth], will believe and heed these words, arbitrarily enacting laws and restrictions without relying on the Buddha's precepts. These are the causes and conditions for destroying the Buddha and destroying the state. At that time, the true Dharma will not last long."
