"Furthermore, for the bodhisattva mahāsattva of the Ground of Freedom from Defilement, the four immeasurables are most supremely tranquil and extinguished. Severing habits such as anger, they cultivate all practices, namely: abstaining from killing; abstaining from taking what is not given; being free of defiled desire in mind; attaining truthful speech, concordant speech, gentle speech, and pacifying speech; constantly practicing a mind of equanimity; constantly giving rise to a mind of benevolence; and abiding in an upright mind. Quiet and purely wholesome, free from the defilement of broken precepts, the contemplation of great benevolence appears before them in thought after thought. Over five asaṃkhyeya kalpas, they are fully endowed with the pure śīla-pāramitā, their resolve valiant, forever separated from all defilements.
