"Good sons! From initial practice of patience up to the vajra-concentration, all is named subduing all defilements. The patience of faith in signlessness illuminates the ultimate truth, extinguishes all defilements, and generates the wisdom of liberation. Gradually subduing and extinguishing, by means of the mind of arising and cessation one attains non-arising and non-cessation. When this mind is extinguished, ignorance is extinguished. All knowledge and vision prior to the vajra-concentration are not yet called true vision. Only the Buddha's sudden understanding, endowed with omniscience, allows all knowledge and vision to be named true vision.
