"At that time, after the Dharma master spoke this verse, King Samantaprabhāsa, upon hearing the Dharma, awakened and understood, realizing the śūnyatāsamādhi; the king's retinues attained the emptiness of the dharma-eye. That king then went to the realm of Aśmaka, and among the host of kings he spoke these words: 'Humane ones! Now the time for [offering] our lives has arrived. All of you should recite and uphold the Prajñāpāramitā verses spoken by the past Buddhas.' Having heard this, the kings also all awakened and understood, attained the śūnyatāsamādhi, and each recited and upheld them. At that time, King Kalmāṣapāda asked the kings: 'What Dharma are you all reciting now?'"
