"Subhūti, what do you think? If a person filled a trichiliocosm with the seven jewels and used them in giving, would the merit gained by this person be great?"
Subhūti said, "Very great, Bhagavat. Why is this? This merit is not of the nature of merit; therefore, the Tathāgata speaks of merit as great."
"If, moreover, there is a person who accepts and upholds from this sūtra even as little as a four-line verse and speaks it to others, their merit surpasses the former. Why is this? Subhūti, all Buddhas and the dharmas of anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi of all Buddhas come forth from this sūtra. Subhūti, what is called the Buddha Dharma is not the Buddha Dharma."
