經。何以故　演曰。自下第二明忍相及生忍處。初徵後辨。此初也。以何等處故能生忍。又行忍度而復言非何所以故。

The Sūtra [states]: "Why is this?" / Exposition: From here below, the second [part] clarifies the characteristic of patience and the place where patience arises. First it queries, and afterwards it explains. This is the first: in what kind of place is patience able to arise? Moreover, practicing the perfection of patience and yet again saying "is no"—what is the reason for this?
