2.62

Sūtra: If again someone [...] could not reach. Exposition: Comparative calculation to demonstrate superiority. A sentient being of a lower stage upholding and reciting in an evil age surpasses the Buddha's superior merit of cultivating causes over two kalpas, thereby revealing the majesty of the sūtra. The reason is as before. The eighth [point] in that commentary states: "Furthermore, one is able to swiftly realize the Dharma." Its explanation says: "This is because it is the Dharma for swiftly realizing bodhi; through being adorned with abundant merit, it is swiftly fulfilled." This agrees with the present meaning.
