經。得如是無量福德　贊曰。此離障得勝報也。顯持經人。雖無如前戒定慧等。三種勝因緣。但由過去無法障故。得是無量福報之身。故能不謗而信持說。即復由此持說經故。當得如是無量福德。顯斯二意。總說得言。非准信經當生福也。

Sūtra: “…obtain such immeasurable merit.”
Commentary: This is having departed from hindrances and obtained superior retributions. It shows that although the person upholding the sūtra lacks the three kinds of superior causes and conditions such as the aforementioned morality, concentration, and wisdom, solely because they had no dharma-hindrance in the past, they obtain this body of immeasurable meritorious retribution; thus they are able to faithfully uphold and explain without slandering. Furthermore, because of upholding and explaining the sūtra, they will in the future obtain such immeasurable merit. Clarifying these two meanings, it speaks comprehensively with the word “obtain”; it does not merely refer to the merit that will be generated in the future by believing in the sūtra.
