經。須菩提以諸至不受福德故　贊曰。下明受報而不住著。於中有三。初標次問後釋。此初也。即是釋前福勝所由。由知無我得成於忍。於所作福而不受故。

Sūtra: [“Subhūti,] because [bodhisattvas] do not receive merit.” / Praise: Below clarifies that receiving retribution entails not abiding or clinging. In this there are three parts: first, stating; next, asking; then, explaining. This is the first. That is, it explains the reason why the previous merit is superior: because through knowing selflessness they achieve patience and do not receive the merit they perform.
