Sūtra: "What the Tathāgata speaks of as a unitary composite... is called a unitary composite mark." Commentary: Below, in revealing emptiness, the text is again divided into two: first, Subhūti [...]; second, the Tathāgata confirms it. This is the first. The unitary composite mark of the external world and internal body constantly spoken of by the Tathāgata is completely empty in substance. Because in terms of the ultimate truth, it exists in sentiment but is absent in principle, and within the ultimate truth, even sentiment does not exist; it is only in accord with their sentiments that it is called a unitary composite.
