佛欲破彼有我見疑故。問善現有人為佛說實我見永我空不。

Wishing to refute their doubt that there is a view of a self, the Buddha therefore asks Subhūti whether there is anyone who says that the Buddha speaks of a real view of a self, [or whether] the self is eternally empty.
