Sūtra: "Therefore, the Tathāgata says: 'All dharmas... are all Buddha-dharmas.'" / Commentary: This is that tathatā pervades all dharmas. Because the aforementioned bodhi is tathatā, tathatā is the honoured Buddha's own substance, and is also the dharma realized by all Buddhas. Tathatā universally serves as the nature of all dharmas; this dharma is the dharma of all Buddhas and the intrinsic characteristic of all. The Buddha, having nothing attained, is able to attain this dharma; a bodhisattva should also attain it through non-attainment.
