[Sūtra:] "'The Tathāgata speaks of world-systems as non-world-systems; these are named world-systems.'"
This is the second [part], determining in terms of cause. "The Tathāgata speaks of world-systems" refers to the vessel world that is the cause of motes of dust. "Non-world-systems" means it is not the world-system of the merit of giving that is the cause of defiled dust. "These are named world-systems" means it is the vessel world that is the cause of indeterminate dust. The meaning of the text here is to clarify that the merit of giving is a cause of defiled affliction, and is still inferior to the cause of the indeterminate dust of world-systems; how could it compare to the merit of upholding this sūtra?
