經。何以故者。第二明徵起也。此之徵意。謂拂疑心。所以然者。凡施等福從心想生。想既不存福憑何起。
[Sūtra:] "Why is this?" The second section clarifies raising the query. The intention of this query is to dispel doubts. Why so? Generally, merits such as giving arise from mental perceptions; since perceptions no longer exist, upon what would merit rely to arise?
