1.55

經。何以故　自下後文明修智也。文中有三。初正釋次重成後辨別異。初中復二。先徵後釋。此文徵也。徵之意者。修習成福已生淨信。復說修智有何意耶。

[Sūtra:] "Why is this?" From here on, the subsequent text explains the cultivation of wisdom. Within the text there are three parts: first, directly explaining; next, re-establishing; and last, distinguishing differences. The first part also has two: first, an inquiry, and next, the explanation. This passage is the inquiry. The intent of the inquiry is: having cultivated and accomplished merit and already generated pure faith, what is the point of speaking again of cultivating wisdom?
