1.72

經。何以故　第三徵也。以多為聚。聚有二義。一積聚義。二進趣義。義既有兩。今但言多為目何等故須徵矣。

[Sūtra:] "Why is this?" The third is the inquiry. "Much" means an accumulation. Accumulation has two meanings: 1. the meaning of stockpiling; 2. the meaning of advancing. Since there are two meanings, now merely saying "much," what does it designate? Therefore an inquiry is necessary.
